"Are you sure you are going to take it? You are a girl and It will take four to five years to complete." Mom said something that she worries about. "Yes, I am. I'm sure to take it and it is my golden moment to prove that I'm going to make it.". "But it's the first time you leave for home. It is another country, though it's our country's neigborhood". Mom interrupted. She was not sure that I could pass all of the situations that might be happened during my education in Johor Bahru-Malaysia. I tried to ensure her that everything would be OK and I promised to keep in touch every day.
Here, I am. I'm studying at Universiti Technology Malaysia (UTM) and I'm taking Chemical engineering as my study. I've been here for two years and I must stick to my plan that in another two years I will be able to attend my graduation with flying colors. It seems easy to say but I've been experiencing the unpredictable moments and I need to convinced myself that I could make it. I've been many days like pins and needle and I want to have a life like a bed of roses. My parents told me that I have to be willing to lie on a bed of nail for some reasons; the life of the surrounding, the multicultural relationship, the challenge of studying new topics of chemical enginering and the local's citizen poin of view of ndonesian people.
No matter how hard I lead my life, I cannot given up easily. The pride of someone feels when they dare to make the decision to migrate to a foreign country, whether to work or study, is to reach the success in the end and brings honor to their family and country. In addition, my father support me a lot to get more life experiences by working in one of the developed countries. He gave his friends' experiences who work and live overseas and enjoy their success with their families. For me, his advice will be parts of my future lists. The most important thing for me now is how to overcome every life condition both ups and down. I realize that I love to go back home as the best way to live is to return to my home town. Life overseas might give lots of joyful as long as you have skills and opportuniy to compete with other international citizens. My journey started with a good intention and I do hope I will be the one who makes proud of my family and my country.
