The weather today was unfavorable. I suspected it was raining while speaking with one of the staff around 10:10 a.m. I needed to complete my tasks from the office without my laptop, which has become a routine for me, but I managed to carry out some activities to meet my responsibilities. I checked and rechecked all the lessons I was scheduled to teach, confirmed the module distribution and training, and discussed today's agenda regarding the client visit. I made sure I was prepared for the class activity.
Then, I had to travel to a client location where I would work with teenagers. Unfortunately, I felt somewhat anxious due to the circumstances; the sky was overcast, and the rain was heavy while I awaited the bus. When I boarded the bus, I felt a sense of relief as I arrived at the final stop just as the rain intensified. I opted to have a meal while waiting for the rain to subside. At exactly 1:30 p.m., I unexpectedly opened my mailbox and noticed something that caught my attention. I received news from my leader team that surprised me. I realized that the outcome was not the only reason to celebrate; it highlighted my progress toward becoming a professional examiner. I know that the assessor was monitoring my testing process while also evaluating my overall performance.
I have been a speaking examiner for Cambridge Assessment for five years, and this marks a new step in my journey toward becoming a professional capable of working on an international level. Additionally, the feedback I received from my performance last Saturday indicated that I had made significant strides and represented a turning point for improvement. I felt pleased to learn that I received a "satisfactory" rating, along with suggestions for my next steps. For me, this signifies a fresh start and reinforces the importance of enhancing my English skills as both a competency and a language.
Learning and practicing are essential strategies for improving my performance. Regardless of the challenges, I am committed to developing my skills, not only to contribute to quality but also to become my best version of a professional. I will remind myself that being an examiner requires intelligence and the ability to uphold a high standard of work.
