That is a part of our campaign via You Tube Channel; https://youtu.be/UIzYEp_ZQUQ That is the first action from our team to introduce us to the community.

I select English as our project because I want to share my passion based on my knowledge and experience in English teaching training programs. There are many ideas coming up from us and want to share to a program that hopefully help those who want to practice freely and find other friends to practice together. We could build and develop our habits by starting from easy activities, we do lots of practice and enjoy them and what we do as habits can be excellent and at the end we could earn from what we do so far.

We avoid the acronym of NATO (No Action Talk Only). We have planned and we have scheduled events for our starting point. We believe that there is a will there is always a way. We have five actions to show and we have made activities for every day, twice a week, weekly and bimonthly. Though the events are parts of prelude to our first move, we hope that we could do the best thing we can, 

The timeline of every show we are going to have will be broadcasted from our social media. We do everyday activity via IG feed and Facebook. Then, we will broadcast simple video via our You Tube channel. On the other hand, we do not have Website yet, but I myself do not give up easily. I will follow a short training on wed design and I will try to work side by side with my team to publish our website at the end of 2021.

We realize that that there only two of us in a team so, we classify our SWOT based on our strength, opportunities, weakness and threats. Up and down of our team's performance will be part our long journey. I have sent my request to some friends to join us but they seem to get the benefits and they are eager to follow our agendas. 

All in all, for me, looking at our progress makes me wondering that We are able to do the steps, the action and the technology  we use as our facilities and I do not believe that what I have been dreaming so long is now going to happen little by little. 

Just what I put Walt Disney's quote above, The dreams will come true as long as we pursue them with all our heart and work in a team. For me, this is just the right thing to do as there is no late action than never. All motivation to show the best and be the best need all efforts and smart team so the high end will give sweet fruits for everyone who need English. The data from our followers at Instagram still low for example, but I do not care because all we have to do is how we can show our program VEZTIFAL SHOW to the public. We need more promotion and we are highly motivated and enjoy our hard work that you could watch at our social media.

TEAMING UP FOR A BETTER TOMORROW

A thing begun is half done

What we do is going to be our performance and it will be part of our identity. It seems all right to work by all our selves but it will be much better to work together in an organized system. The beneficial points from working together can give good impact not only to the individual point of view but also to the whole of members' progress work. Everyone in a team supports each other, move ahead and continuously show the best are parts of Growth Mindset. 

On this Review part, I have got my buddy from IP kediri, Her name is Ms. Istiqomah and she has a powerful team named, IBU BARIS. As we completed our team Goals and Resources last two weeks, we have to give a feedback to our buddy. It is a comprehensive work as I must observe her team and her team work carefully and to give a proportional and supportive feedback need a good point of view to share. Let us start one by one.

1. How effective the application of SMART method in determining the team goal

I am interested on the team as they could describe each letter in SMART and it reveals their prospective working performance. The details of SMART method is described well. In addition, the scope of their focus is specific, the goals are organized and measurable, The range of activities are attainable as they are relevant to the goal. It covers the time span of both short and long term program.

2. What kinds of process can be seen when the team determine the milestone to reach the goal

It clearly seen that each milestone has the time schedule and the target goals. Moreover, step by step activity is supported to each other's topic. 

3. Parts of the good points and parts should be improved

The good parts of the team is group working and each individual member has role and tasks to do to support the big target of their project. That what the team needs to improve their quality performance. On the other hand, parts should be improved is the commitment of each member to stick together and fulfill their tasks based on their role.

So, everyone of us should be able to work in group and contribute based on our interest and capacity. Commitment, consistency and work focus will  bound the relationship and will show in every group performance. It is true "A thing begun is half done", meaning that a good beginning makes it easier to accomplish the rest of the project. The last thing I want to share is teaming up is very crucial for a better tomorrow.

“Let’s Speak English At Home: Belajar Bahasa Inggris Sambil Bermain”

 

Bermain sambil belajar itu bagaikan menyelam sambil minum air, begitulah perumpamaan yang bisa digambarkan bila kita bisa mengajak anak bermain sambil memberikan sisipan ilmu. Sederhana tetapi dapat membantu meningkatlan kemampuan anak dalam bidang literasi. Mengucap, meniru, menunjuk dan menyebutkan nama nama benda misalnya, meningkatkan kosa kata anak untuk dikembangkan menjadi sebuah percakapan. Di samping itu, bila orang tua berencana melatih kosa kata bahasa asing pada anak, maka perlu diperhatikan kemampuan bahasa ibu nya sudah baik. Kemudian orang tua dan anggota keluarga lain dapat ikut berperan dalam kegiatan tersebut. Model kegiatan bermain ini akan berdampak baik bila para orang tua memperhatikan beberapa hal terkait dengan kondisi anak, suasana yang dibangun, pemilihan waktu yang tepat serta durasi dan strategi bermain yang disuguhkan. Beragam permainan kata atau kalimat yang sederhana dapat dimulai dengan pertanyaan, seperti Close-ended questions atau pertanyaan tertutup yang hanya membutuhkan jawaban “ya” atau “tidak”. Pertanyaan pendek dan tidak rumit bisa disisipkan pada saat anak bermain. Sapaan yang hangat dan sikap ramah dari orang tua membuat suasana yang dibangun seperti sedang mengobrol biasa dan kedekatan jarak pun dapat menambah suasana santai. Berikut topik-topik yang dapat dilatihkan kepada anak untuk mengembangkan kemampuan bahasa Inggrisnya dalam area bermain.

1.   Mengenalkan alfabet (Alphabet)

Kita bisa bermain kata dengan mengenalkan huruf (alphabet). Lakukan kegiatan tersebut dengan cara yang menyenangkan agar anak-anak bisa melafalkannya tanpa merasa dipaksa. Kegiatan pengenalan huruf dapat disesuaikan dengan usia anak dan juga gaya belajarnya. Bernyanyi bisa menjadi langkah awal yang efektif untuk memperkenalkan huruf. Berikutnya, kita  dapat berikan penguatan latihan mengidentifikasi huruf baik dengan menggunakan kartu-kartu bergambar (flash cards), lembaran-lembaran kerja (worksheets), atau bahkan melalui ragam permainan yang menarik (alphabet games).

 

2.   Mengenalkan warna (Colors)

Kenalkan warna warna dasar dalam Bahasa Inggris yang ada di sekitar anak. Alat bantu seperti pensil warna, spidol, crayon, atau cat air dapat di jadikan media pembelajaran. Tambahan pengenalan warna lain dapat dilakukan mellaui eksperimen warna yang lebih seru. Anak-anak akan lebih mudah mengingat dan memahami sesuatu yang praktekkan dibandingkan dengan yang dihafalkan.

 

3.   Mengenalkan bilangan biasa (Cardinal and Ordinal Numbers)

Ada beberapa cara mengenalkan bilangan biasa (cardinal numbers) pada anak dalam Bahasa Inggris. Ada kartu bergambar, lagu dan video interaktif. Permainan yang menarik dapat membantu anak menjelajahi angka. Kemudian, pengenalan angka juga bisa diberikan melalui  Matematika dasar, Misalnya penjumlahan. Di sisi lain, bilangan bertingkat (ordinal numbers) berbeda dengan bilangan biasa. Latihkan bagian ini bila anak sudah memahami bilangan boasa. Lanjutkan dengan praktek menulis dan mengucapkannya dalam kalimat-kalimat yang sederhana semisal: “Saya adalah anak pertama dalam keluarga.” Bisa juga dengan kalimat “Kami tinggal di lantai tiga apartemen ini.”

 

4.   Mengenalkan nama-nama hari (Telling The Days)

Pengenalan nama nama hari dapat diberikan lewat lagu. banyak lagu yang bisa dijadikan referensi sebelum memulai bermain. Ajak anak-anak untuk melafalkan nama-nama hari dalam Bahasa Inggris agar mereka terbiasa mengucapkannya. Selain itu mereka dapat berlatih menuliskannya.

 

5.   Mengenalkan nama-nama bulan (Telling The Months)

Sama seperti bermain nama nama hari, nama-nama bulan pun dapat diberikan melalui lagu atau tebak kata. Pembahasan tentang nama-nama bulan merupakan lanjutan dari pembahasan tentang nama-nama hari yang sudah dipelajari sebelumnya. Gunakanlah lembaran kerja (worksheet) untuk latihan.

 

6.   Mengenalkan salam (Greeting)

Sapaan “Hello” atau “Hi”, adalah contoh sederhana dan mudah diajarkan kepada anak. Contoh sapaan lainya adalah “Good morning”, “Good afternoon”, “Good evening” lagu yang bisa kita tiru dapat disimak di youtube . Contoh percakapan  yang bisa kita lakukan: “Hello, Nayla” or “Hi, Nayla”. Good morning! Kita bisa tambahkan ungkapan lain seperti; “Are you happy?” / “Are you doing something?”Cara melatihnya pun bisa diberikan melalui kegiatan bernyanyi atau menyapa pada saat memulai percakapan.

 

7.      Mengenalkan keluarga (Family)

Keluarga pun dapat dikenalkan dari diri sendiri dulu dan selanjutnya orang-orang disekitar (anggota keluarga). foto keluarga dapat menjadi media efektif tnpa harus menerjemahkannya. Selanjutnya, ajaklah anak membuat pohon keluarganya agar lebih mengenal konsep tentang keluarga sebagai bagian yang terdekat dari dirinya.

 

8.         Mengenalkan kata benda (Noun)

Mengenalkan kata benda (Noun) sebaiknya dikelompokkan terlebih dahulu sesuai lingkupnya. Contoh terdekat adalah parts of body. Beberapa topik lain yang dapat dikenalkan adalah parts of the house, things in the kitchen, Masih sangat banyak tema-tema mengenai kata pakaian, makanan, tempat-tempat umum, profesi, dan lain sebagainya. Pastikan anak  mempelajarinya perbagian dan mulailah dengan tema yang paling dekat dengan keseharian.

 

9.         Mengenalkan kata sifat (Adjective)

Bermain kata sifat dapat dilakukan melalui pengenalan lawan katanya. Buatlah aktivitas bersama anak-anak yang mendukung proses pembelajaran mengenai kata sifat. Contoh;  jauh-dekat, tinggi-rendah, besar-kecil, dan lain sebagainya. Lanjutkan dengan membuat kalimat sederhana dari contoh yang diberikan.

 

10.     Mengenalkan kata kerja (Verb)

mulailah dengan mengenalkan kata-kata kerja sederhana yang dekat dengan keseharian. Untuk pembahasan tata bahasa (grammar) tidak perlu diajarkan pada tahap pengenalan ini. Seiring dengan praktek dan latihan yang konsisten, materi tentang tata bahasa akan dapat dimasukkan dengan mudah.

 

11.     Mengenalkan tentang musim dan cuaca serta kosa kata yang berhubungan dengan musim dan cuaca (Let’s Talk About Season & Weather)

Mengenalkan topic ini dapat diberikan melalui jalan bercerita atau membacakan nyaring. Carilah bacaan singkat yang menarik untuk bercerita tentang musim dan cuaca. Saat belajar tentang musim dan cuaca, anak-anak bisa menambah wawasannya tentang cuaca yang berbeda dari berbagai belahan dunia.

 

There is no place like home, Ungkapan ini sesuai dengan suasana saat ini. Semua yang kita lakukan dikerjakan, diproses dan diselesaikan di rumah. Hikmah dari kondisi “Kita main yuk, ma”. Ungkapan itu menjadi ajakan rutin anak anak di rumah ketika mereka bersama ayah dan ibu juga anggota keluarga yang lain.  Model bermain bisa kita sajikan dengan bernyayi (singing songs), bercerita (telling stories), membaca nyaring (Read aloud), teabk kata / gambar (guessing word/ picture), menulis kata (writing word), mewarnai atau menggambar (coloring or drawing). berbagai topik sederhana pun bisa menjadi bagian bermain yang menyenangkan. Di sisi lain, kegiatan fisik yang mengajak anak untuk menggerakkan anggota tubuhnya agar rangsangan motorik kasar dan halusnya berkembang bersamaan. Keseruan dan manfaat bermain bersama anak dapat dinikmati dengan kebersamaa anggota keluarga lainnya. Untuk menambah jam praktek belajar Bahasa Inggris, ada baiknya, anak bergabung dengan fasilitas bahasa yang akan memperkaya kosa katanya menjadi pembiasaan berbahasa (Speaking) dengan penuh percaya diri dan lancar. Ditambah lagi, pengalaman bertemu orang asing akan memperkaya pengalamannya

BE SMART TO ACCOMPLISH SMART RESULT

There are many ways to get success and there are many efforts to reach every goal. However, as long as we think and so smartly, we could do much better than we make unclear planning with random targets. The worse is when we find ourselves in a deep failure because of our weakness strategy and bad planning. It is time to plan and work systematically in a good order by applying SMART method. 

According to https://www.atlassian.com/blog/productivity/how-to-write-smart-goals SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bone) goals are established using a specific set of criteria that ensures your objectives are attainable within a certain time frame.  Here, we have discussed in team and have the same point of view about our goals that must be included the method. Here are our activities to formulate the SMART method. In addition, the benefits of this method for us in team is not only becoming organized people in team but also we will consistent to do all of our plan, process to accomplish the target. 

1. SPECIFIC

    We believe that when we have specific target and goal, we could do all the activities in a good order and the most important thing is focus or consistent. We are going to be discipline to do the steps we have set and we could evaluate which part of or work has to be improved and which one should be criticized. So, in this part of our activity is to drill ourselves on improving our soft skills in technology to improve our performance in our project later. To get the picture of this part, we design a series of questions using WH- Questions:

What are our goal and target?

When are those going to be completed?

Where is the project going to be executed?

Who are going to be involved in the team's project?

Why must the project  be completed?

How does the project complete / run smoothly and well?

In general, Here is our goal and project for this stage:

" We practice and drill our soft skills related to technology independently and practice English session together to boost our performance" 

Note: The short term project is our own selves.

2. MEASURABLE

   Measurable point is our concern. We have regular activities with a bunch of tasks and duties. We also talk about the target based on our time management. To cope with other works and maintain the harmony of our daily activities, we agree to put weekly target to complete our tasks. We have discussed to show our work result on our weekly meeting.

3. ACHIEVABLE

Since there are two of us in our team, so we make an agreement that what we are going to do, practice and improve is related to our technology skills. I do thank to Allah that I have got some training on Canva and Quiziz. I got a lot insights and inspirations from the training. So, I am sure that I can practice more on how to maximize the technology before showing off our project to the public. Meanwhile, my team is good at kinemaster and other video editing that encourage us to learn together to fill in the support system we need later on. Meanwhile, to run our English project, we also practice our English session to talk about different kinds activities to share later when it goes public. 

4. RELEVANT

    This part of the point is our next concern. We must make sure that what we plan will be relevant to our goal and target. We also have the same point of view that what we are going has interrelationship to each other. We develop our soft skills- English and Technology literate- and this relevant works will encourage our team to do better. It seems simple to practice all the above tasks. However, I am a new person in make use of those applications but I see the silver lining as well. All we practice are relevant to our works and project.

5. TIME BOUND

     We have to realize that our project must be completed on schedule or based on the timeline. Step by step and based on the timeline, we have to be discipline and help each other to back up our team. There are long and short term project we have discussed. This activity will run for 12 months or a year. Besides, we also divide the concentration work into two parts. The first short term will be the first six months and the other one will be on the second six months as well.

Here is the picture of our short term project and this will be our road map to be consistent and focus on what we have already decided in a mutual agreement. This will be our compass to see how far we are and to check where we have achieved. It is only the two of us but I am sure we could do the milestone project step by step. 

We believe that we could do anything together as long as we open our selves to a productive communication, have a good attitude to complete all the chores as our commitment and we do it based on the trust, competence, plan, goals and target.

 TEAMWORK : DEVELOPING CAPACITY TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF TEAM'S PERFORMANCE

Your actions – good or bad – determine what you get.

I have got buddy from Batam. It is nice to have another buddy friend from other parts of the country. I imagine if I could visit that place. see the beautiful view and  have an experience to taste and have a nice relationship with the local people.

Here is mba Hanna Ratri Nadya who has an interesting problem statement related to emotion. She also has a team to run the project and her team name is BERSEMI.

I do not know exactly about her team problem but reading and observing from her own problem statement, I could have some review on it.

BERSEMI (Bersama Cerdas Emosi) shows something related how to maintain emotional feeling and condition smartly in every condition, bad or good one. No matter the problem will come in into our life, this feeling called emotion must be in a good portion to be. 

Among the seven members of the group, each one has similar problems to be a challenge to conquer. Through this project, I think the group really want to campaign and run the project into various kinds of activities to synchronize the different kinds of problems into sufficient emotion thinking, feeling that will reflect to the action. 

The result of the project, I think, the team invites all women including their families to realize that managing the emotion is going to be a big challenge to face. Compromising the unsupportive situation should not be the obstacle as our feeling could receive it by applying some steps to do.

Although I could not see the background of the team problem, How they realize the star bursting brainstorming and look at the back up fact and data. I do hope that the team will run together as the tame day said; 

“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”

Here are my input for my buddy. The description of her team should be explained in her journal. It will give the reader a picture of what the team is working out now. There should also be the supported reason to reveal the project. After all, I do hope that her team will run every project.

 TEAMING UP FOR A BETTER TOMORROW

DIG DIVE YOUR PROBLEMS WITH YOUR TEAM AND FEEL TOGETHERNESS THERE

Here we are now on the 3rd part of our class project assignment. We have a sophisticated program to do together in a team and not by my self. At first, I wanted to do it all by myself but then when Ibu Septi confirmed us that this is team project so it is time for every team to work together and discuss the problem statement. I have my problem and my member team has also her own problem. To complete the activities, we do the guidance shared by Ibu Septi and it is chronologically put in an order so I have self confidence to explain to my one and only member to talk our project.

I start explaining my problem statement and we are then discussing the first Step. I invited the member last Thursday to talk about our project. So, last night (11/August/ 2021) we start the meeting by my first turn. I explain the agenda and I went on explaining my problem statement then I asked her to tell and inform her problem statement, then from our own point of view, we take a mutual problem statement:

My problem: Applying English Soft skill to be able to compete in International education, industry and  business 

Your problem (1): English Soft skill Bahasa become a necessity to enable us to come and interact among International community in the field of education that will support the work performance in business or industry

Your problem (2): English becomes a compulsory part of a profession to build and develop International network especial in design graphic field of work.

Our problem: The ability of English Communication as supported soft skill to succeed the activities in further education, business and Industry

I really enjoy talking and discussing about understanding our problem statement as we spend much time to find out the solution but then I remember that we have to design a star bursting brainstorming to dig dive our problem statement and to find out our mutual understanding on that part.

To support our concern and our further program, we have to completed some activities to dig dive Our problem statement and to make sure that our concern is justified by the experts comment. 

Marianna Pascal  in TED Talks informed that learning a language should be like you are playing a video game, It means that you should say it like you play a game and you enjoy it. If you find mistake than you could learn to fix it while you are playing the game again and again. Repetition and habits formation  Besides, she also shows how the secret to speaking a new language with confidence is all about attitude, not ability. 

Meanwhile, the issue of MEA (Asean Economic Community) that English becomes the language that further education, business, and industry and that will open everyone who live in South Asia nations to study, work or have a business in any of those countries. From this point, Indonesia has take part to compete among the Asean countries to show our ability to walk together and to maintain good relationship and to pursue better nation welfare. How to enable us to be able to compete with other people from other countries in Asean is by having a set of abilities including English. In fact, the weakness of our graduates, for example, is the level of self-confidence in speaking English. Most of them feel worried to make mistakes while having a conversation, for example. Although English is a tool and supported part that can be applied in their field of work or study. The obstacles of speaking English become the problem and consequently the opportunities to get better work, business or further study. 

The problems should be solved and running a program to improve the English skill can open job opportunities widely. Socializing by campaigning and promoting English to maintain and improve their quality work performance will give more beneficial points for not only for every individual achievement but also for our nation.

"ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END"

A REVIEW:  A PROSPECTIVE PROJECT FOR FAMILIES

Reading and observing my buddy's prospective project, Miss Evita Indah K, made me think deeply about how meaningful a family for the future is. There are different kinds of activities to boost family's quality performance physical and emotional projects but this one, in my point of view, is another program that will give refreshment to every family who want to try to improve the bonding and relationship among the members of the family. 

On the other hand, Ms. Evita's team seems to be powerful as the project will go smoothly and based on the plan as the team has qualities to energize every agenda to do. The strength of each member of the team will be able to run and synergize the every event on schedule. There are some points I could learn from her team point if view. First, open communication to find the same problem statement by sharing some ideas and opinion to get the same vision for running the project.
